Words of wisdom?!?

Anyone who's ever travelled around Nigeria or West Africa must have come across the huge trailers, ancient rusty wagons, vans and lorries hauling anything from human beings in the dusty open tops to high-tech machinery, over hundreds of miles.

One common trait being the ubiquitous slogans you find on the sides of these rickety metal monsters. You see we African's are a superstititious and deeply religious lot, also Truck drivers generally are a raw and basic set of human beings but their charm (or lack of it) is undeniable.

I'm going to drop a few of my favourite slogans from West African lorries:

A. Some show the driver's life philosophies

GOD SENTENCE NO APPEAL

EVERY MAN FOR HIMSELF GOD FOR US ALL

MY ENEMY SEE ME AND COLLAPSE

POVERTY IS SICKNESS MEDECIN IS HARD WORK

TO BE A MAN IS NOT A DAY JOB

BLACK MAN SORRY NA LAUGH
(when a black man sympathises he's actually laughing at you)

A MAN WITHOUT REASON IS A BEAST OF THE SEASON

WHITE TEAT (Teeth) BLACK HAT (Heart)

LAGOS IS MY SCHOOL IDDO (A popular trailer park in Lagos) IS MY CLASSROOM

IT PAINS YOU WHY?

LET MY ENEMY LIVE LONG AND SEE WHAT I WILL BE IN FUTURE

I AM AFRAID OF MY FRIENDS EVEN YOU

ONE WITH GOD IS MAJORITY

UWAA NKAA SELF (This world never ceases to amaze me).

NO CONDITION IS PERMANENT.

SALUTATION IS NOT LOVE

NO PADDY FOR JUNGLE (No friends in the jungle)

MIND YOUR BIZNESS

POOR MAN HAS NO FRIEND

JOHN 3:16

SLOW AND STEADY

B. Some slogans show the driver's deepest aspirations or just a description (?)

DE YOUNG JIMMY CLIFF(??)

ORIGINAL TONY BLEER (Blair)

KING OF BOYS

AFRICAN PRIME MINISTER

BIG JOHNNY(?!)

TERROR IN SPACE

COMMISSIONER FOR ENJOYMENT

JUNGLE EXPERT

AFRICAN SHASHI KAPOOR

BLACK DHAMENDRA
(You see, we love our Bollywood films in Africa)

WORLD PELE

HANDSOME MARADONA

SON OF BRUCE LEE
