Ceasefire?!?

Ceasefire right? Well so those buffoons (on both sides) have decided to stop the ridiculous charade. Well it would be equally ludicrous but nice to hear if true, sadly its not going to hold.

What were the Israeli objectives- a. To get back their captured Soldiers; b. To destroy Hezbollah

What were the Hezbollah objectives- a. To leverage the release of some prisoners; b. Increase their profile.

What were the civilian objectives- To survive the idiocy of both sides.

Any winners here? No, unless you count Hezbollah's new and enhanced recruitment drive, Israel has succeeded in generating more membership for these guys than they could possibly imagine. The fact that Israel could possibly trumpet that Hezbollah's structure has been destroyed is extremely worrying in that it displays a serious self-delusion, which calls to question general judgement.

Hezbollah's tactics have been cynical and plainly despicable, but thats what they do they are Terrorists and whether you like it or not savage Guerilla fighters. By now it should be clear from Iraq that the war is not won just when CNN and other Newscrews have moved away, in the minds of the Guerilla fighters it's just starting. The fact that the Israeli's triumphantly announce the killing of 12 Hezbollah fighters is a sad commentary, there are thousands out there and then you kill 12 madmen who are more than pleased to die, with your superior weaponry and then you celebrate?

The devastation of Lebanon and the civilian lives lost are my only sadness and concern, a Soldier has war as a vocation, hence its his choice, civilians don't and thats the sad bit.
