Hunter S Thompson Pt 2
Hunter S. Thompson Part 2
"The TV business is uglier than most things. It is normally perceived as some kind of cruel and shallow money trench through the heart of the journalism industry, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free and good men die like dogs, for no good reason."
"It was the Law of the Sea, they said. Civilization ends at the waterline. Beyond that, we all enter the food chain, and not always right at the top."
"He who makes a beast of himself relieves himself the pain of being a man."
"A man who procrastinates in his choosing will inevitably have his choice made for him by circumstance."
In further hero worship of Hunter S Thompson, I've put together a few of his lesser known but nonetheless brilliant quotes, I say no more read on.
"No man is so foolish but he may sometimes give another good counsel, and no man so wise that he may not easily err if he takes no other counsel than his own. He that is taught only by himself has a fool for a master." "The TV business is uglier than most things. Both pertinent and profound profferings as usual...The self-taught fool has particular personal resonance and relevance, unfortunately, as does the procrastinating...oh dear!!! What do you know about Thompson as an individual...was his real-life wit as acerbic and accurate? Have you considered journalism yourself - think you'd be good!
Thanks Mr/Mrs/Ms Anonymous. Thompson lived his life the way he wrote his pieces, his life was an experiment in his own philosophy. Me? Not likely I'd much rather posture on the sidelines
